Shadows

Complicated shadows
slide on the moon,
frost themselves with pewter dust
to hide upon the dunes.

Bowing to the Earth
 as she twirls from afar,
theorize about her,
this, their blue-green star.

Shadows mock the silence
as they dance to its tunes,
while
bowing to the Earth
and hiding on the moon.

Shredded Moonbeams

Shredded moonbeams fall on the hill
where night-things gather them
and tuck them away,
for this is the only light
that will ever come their way.

Day-things seek
this hidden knowledge still,
but fail to look up
at moonbeams on the hill.
